Izza Kizza

Izza Kizza’s name comes from the ‘Pig Latin’ lyrics in Malcolm McLaren’s creative left field hit “Double Dutch Bus” and perfectly describes his funky electro-stuttering rhyme style, outrageous lyrics, groundbreaking creativity and outgoing charismatic personality. The name Izza Kizza is self defined as discovering your own lane, breaking the mold, being yourself, thinking and being different, all while celebrating ones uniqueness. Izza Kizza could also be used to describe what it is that he does when he makes a song. He puts his “Izza Kizza” on a track, which is his unique hyper-outlandish, syncopated rhyme style, which has been unseen or unequaled since the late 90’s. To further match Kizza’s unique music and name, is his eclectic image which is constantly changing and evolving and can only really be described as an extension and expression of his personality. His style is very representative of where the youth of today are going tomorrow, in an ever changing internet influenced landscape.

Born and raised in the small rural southern town of Valdosta Georgia, Terry Davis a/k/a Izza Kizza quickly knew at a very young age that music would play a major role in his life. The younger of two boys, Izza Kizza started performing at the age of twelve in a singing group that consisted of his brother and a friend. But once he heard rap groups like Run DMC and Kriss Kross he rethought his creative future and quickly put his singing career on hold, and began to make his way to be known as an upcoming local MC in his area code. After gaining a significant local following, Kizza’s reputation had reached the ears of a woman who happened to be the sister of music producer Bless, one half of the multi-platinum New Jersey based production team The Soul Diggaz (Beyonce, Missy Elliot, Ashley Simpson). The Soul Diggaz (K-Mack and Bless) were looking for a southern rapper to develop, so they had Bless’s sister bring all of the best local Valdosta rappers together to her house to say their rhymes over the phone so that K-Mack and Bless could hear which local MC was the best and worthy of signing to The Soul Diggaz production company. Once they heard Izza Kizza rap over the phone, the decision was quickly made, and they bought a ticket for him to fly to New Jersey, and he has never left.
